Emerging Young Leader in Medicine and Healthcare Award
INR 10 lakhs

This award aims at honouring a young individual (< 45 years) who has made and continues to make an outstanding contribution to medicine and research in India.

Eligibility Criteria:

a) Novel contributions to Medicine/Medical Research in India – The award can be given for an outstanding invention or discovery or for a cumulative body of work1

b) Demonstrates exemplary skills and initiatives in the art and science of medicine2

c) Has leadership qualities and is a true emerging leader3

d) Has raised substantial grants from both national & international agencies4

e) Academic research contribution exemplified by high impact publications

Exemplary Leadership in Rural Medicine and Healthcare Award
INR 10 lakhs

This award aims at honouring an individual who has made and continues to make an outstanding contribution to furthering wellness and healthcare quality, accessibility and affordability in rural/hard-to-reach/tribal areas in India.

Eligibility Criteria:

a) Demonstrates exemplary initiatives in promoting wellness and improving healthcare quality in rural/remote/tribal areas in India5

b) Developed novel and innovative healthcare models which could be adopted as best practice for uplifting of rural health1&6

c) Demonstrates sustained leadership and initiative that is worthy of emulation

Smt. Gayatri Jaipuria Women's Medicine and Healthcare Excellence Award
INR 10 lakhs

This award aims at honouring women who have made seminal contributions to the field of medicine and is a source of inspiration to doctors across the country.

Eligibility Criteria:

a) Should have an excellent track record in the following domains:

  • Academic
  • Research and Innovation1
  • Clinical Care
  • Policy & Public Health
  • Institution Building
  • Mentorship
 

b) Worked towards women empowerment in and out of the workplace, and have mentored future leaders in healthcare

c) Displayed exemplary leadership and has become a role model for women in the field of healthcare

Shri Ashwini Kumar Award for Healthcare Excellence in Diabetes and Obesity Care
INR 10 lakhs

This award honours an individual who has made and continues to make an outstanding contribution to advancing care in Diabetes and Obesity in India through excellence in clinical practice, generation of new knowledge, and innovative approaches that improve patient outcomes and influence policy and practice.

Eligibility Criteria:

The award is open to individual applicants only (Indian citizens) who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:

a) Excellence in Clinical Care

  • Delivery of high-quality, patient-centered clinical care in Diabetes and Obesity.
  • Demonstrated improvements in patient outcomes in any of these conditions.

b) Contribution to New Knowledge & Innovation

  • Research contributions that expand understanding of Diabetes and Obesity.
  • Development and dissemination of new approaches, models, or tools in the management of these conditions. 

c) Impact on Policy and Patient Care Practices

  • Work that has influenced policy, guidelines, or clinical practices in Diabetes and Obesity care.
  • Demonstrated evidence of improving outcomes at a population or systems level for any of these conditions.

d) Overall Fit and Commitment

  • Proven record of selfless service in the field of Diabetes and Obesity.
  • Work that reflects values of equity, accessibility, and sustainability.

 

Nomination Basis: This award will be conferred by nominations only, supported by detailed justification and evidence of impact in any of the three focus areas.

  1. Details on new devices or methods developed by the applicant, or any patents held by the applicant. 
  2. Details on attributes such as implementation of quality improvement practices, new care models, impact of contributions on clinical practice in general etc. 
  3. Role played in activities that display leadership qualities. Example: Institutional building activity, mentorship, leading activities on ethical issues, membership in policy making committees (state/national level), inter-intra institutional collaborations, multi-disciplinary work etc. 
  4. Details of the grants raised such as role in project (PI/Co-PI/Co-investigator), amount of funding raised, title of the grant, funding agency etc. 
  5. Details of initiatives that have created a significant impact on rural healthcare with details on quantitative impact parameters. 
  6. Innovations in model of healthcare such as task shifting/sharing for improving access and quality of care.
